Sugar beet is also produced in Northern Europe
Sugar and animal feed are the main products of the sugar factory in Säkylä.
The Säkylä factory commenced operations in 1953 and is located in western Finland. Today, we produce sugar, molasses and animal feed at the factory. We pack the fine sugar into Bigbags and supply it in bulk form directly to the further processing industry and to the Porkkala factory. We sell the pressed pulp to animal feed factories for further processing. Around 80 permanent employees work at the factory and are supported by 50 temporary staff during the campaign.
