Sustainability Begins in the Field – And Grows Through Strong Partnerships Along the Value Chain
Building on this foundation, we are implementing targeted measures that directly reduce the carbon footprint of sugar beet cultivation. This includes the use of CO₂e-reduced fertilisers, fuels based on hydrogenated vegetable oils, and agronomic improvements. Together with our growers, customers and other partners, we translate these approaches into practical and effective solutions that advance decarbonisation along our entire value chain.
We are also investing in the decarbonisation of our production. Renewable energies such as biogas, the use of beet pulp for biomethane generation, and innovative technologies such as vapour‑compression systems are helping us reduce fossil energy consumption step by step. Through increased energy efficiency and fuel switching across all our factories, we have already achieved substantial progress. At the same time, our factory roadmaps outline additional CO₂e‑reduction projects that will further advance our path toward significantly lower emissions in sugar production.
In addition, we are strengthening cooperation and transparency along the value chain. We listen closely to our customers, understand their expectations and adapt our offering accordingly. By continuously developing our sustainability activities and communicating them proactively, we support our customers in meeting their own sustainability goals while jointly shaping future‑oriented solutions. Our ambition is clear: we reduce emissions, invest in smart and efficient technologies, and we work closely with our partners to improve along the entire value chain – from the field to the customer. We look forward to starting the dialogue with you soon!
