Although the growth of the market for plant-based proteins is currently lagging behind initial expectations, the topic remains relevant for Nordzucker. The European market is currently undergoing restructuring, characterised by additional imports and new production capacities, which are leading to oversupply and falling prices. Against this backdrop, Nordzucker has decided not to build the planned pea protein factory in Groß Munzel, Lower Saxony. We are currently reviewing our market entry strategy.
