Nordzucker Post 4/2025 - 30 October 2025

Investment package for 2026/2027 finalised

Our investment level remains high despite changes in the market and in the field. Nordzucker is thus sending a strong signal that it is securing its future.

“With this package of measures, we are continuing to invest specifically in the future of the Nordzucker plants. The focus is on the GoGreen programme to decarbonise production, increased automation and digitalisation, and major projects such as the new extraction tower in Schladen. Our investments are aimed at securing the long-term competitiveness and sustainability of the Nordzucker sites,” explains COO Alexander Godow.

Sustainability and decarbonisation are particularly important aspects of the investments. Over the past three years, Nordzucker has invested around 145 million Euro in sustainable projects – supported by millions in external funding. “The finalisation of cost-intensive projects this year – such as the conversion of steam boiler systems from coal to gas – brings us a big step closer to our goal of CO₂ -neutral sugar production,” Alexander Godow continues.

Efficiency measures such as the centralisation of liquid sugar production at the Nordstemmen site are nearing completion. At the same time, investments are being made in silo renovations, beet processing, sugar houses and automation.
