In 1952, partly the factory underwent conversion to enable the production of white sugar instead of raw sugar. In 2019 we have connected the conversion to 100 percent white sugar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u00d6rtofta sugar factory in southern Sweden is today the only sugar factory in Sweden and one of the largest and most efficient beet-processing factories in the whole of Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We produce sugar, molasses and animal feed here. We sell half of the sugar to the retail sector and the other half to the food industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the employees in the <em>Quality, Innovation, Production Support<\/em> (QIPS) department are also based in \u00d6rtofta.
