Clear criteria provide transparency
EcoVadis has been assessing Nordzucker since 2015. The assessment comprises four areas: environment, working practices, fair business practices and sustainable purchasing. EcoVadis assesses the policies and measures implementation as well as the company’s external communications. The assessment is based on an elaborate survey where the answers are being analysed by experts on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and adapted to the specific country, sector and company size. It also draws on reports, public relations work and information provided to interest groups such as non-governmental organizations, trade unions and the media.
The EcoVadis methodology is based on international sustainability standards (Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact, ISO 26000). A scientific committee comprising experts on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and supply chains monitors how the assessments are performed.
