We train industrial mechanics at our factories in Clauen, Klein Wanzleben, Nordstemmen, Schladen and Uelzen.
As an industrial mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and restarts of industrial machinery after carrying out detailed and comprehensive function tests. This machinery includes production systems, turbines, compressors, conveyor belts, etc. In addition, you will also be involved in installing components and modules on the basis of operating instructions, and will also be capable of producing individual parts yourself on lathes, millers and drilling machines.
Responsibilities as an industrial mechanic at Nordzucker
With your skills, knowledge and abilities, you make a major contribution during the maintenance period to ensure that all of our equipment is in perfect working order ready for the next campaign. Your daily duties include the inspection, maintenance and repair of beet washers, beet pulp cutting machines, and beet conveying machinery.
In addition, you also have to be able to adjust the operating equipment to any changes in operating conditions, i.e. dismantling and assembling parts and modules under maintenance conditions, identifying defects, repairing faults and initiating operational restarts after function testing. These tasks are largely carried out outside of the production and maintenance workshops at a range of different locations.
During the campaign (sugar production period) industrial mechanics can be assigned to any of the different production areas as required.
