Human resource development programmes
At Nordzucker, we promote the development of those groups of employees defined by the corporate strategy as occupying key positions, or who have been earmarked for the occupation of these positions in future. Specifically, these human resource development measures involve the elaboration of target-group-centric national and international development programmes consisting of several training modules. The participants undergo several different theory and project phases, accompanied by individual supervision by the human resource development team and selected managers.
Two of these programmes are presented below as typical examples of this activity:
Sugar Talent Programme (international)
The Sugar Talent Programme is aimed at advancing employees with a high potential for taking over management responsibilities in future. The participants from different Nordzucker AG international locations take part in a range of training modules over a period of 18 months. The ultimate objective of this programme is to enable the participants to also apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired during the training courses to a range of practise-oriented project tasks. The top management is involved here as the sponsors of the project and development programme consultants. The Sugar Talents work together in teams to tackle management issues, and the results are then presented to the executive board and the senior management. At the end of a programme, the participants continue to receive human resource development support, and individual supervision for their career development.

Junior operations managers (national)
The training programme for junior operations managers is our response to the continuous need for production staff to acquire additional qualifications to enable these employees to react proactively to changes and technical innovations. As part of this programme, Nordzucker offers operations staff who have recently been promoted to a management position or have the potential to occupy a managerial position in the future, to enhance their skills on all aspects of "management". This training is strongly oriented to practical aspects, as reflected in particular in the content dealing with labour law and business administration.
When they have completed the programme, the participants are optimally prepared to take over managerial responsibilities.
